Here’s an idea: Let’s spend a week thinking of solutions to the myriad problems we debate here at Thought Mechanics. Yeah, yeah, I know, finger pointing and one-upping is fun and it’s great to be right. Take one look at any given article by any of the talented writers at this site and you’ll see within the comments section an explosion of back and forth, interpretation and reinterpretation of numbers, facts and viewpoints mostly offered as a means to do nothing more than refute the thinking of anyone with an opposing viewpoint.

I’d like to challenge the readers of this site to spend some time working toward common ground. Otherwise, all we do is mimic the ineffective habits of our elected officials in Washington. And yes, they are overwhelmingly ineffective, highly partisan, arguably biased and self-serving. This isn’t an accusation I level against conservatives alone. This statement is leveled against all who apply, be they a Democrat, a Republican or otherwise.
